Just to recap, it’s a great way to organize your emails that come in by adding a word to your main email address. That way you can filter messages that come to that email address either to a special folder, or if it becomes a problem, straight to the trash.
Here's how to do it:
If your email address is testuser@ilj.com and you want to sign up for a newsletter about gardens, you could give them testuser+gardens@ilj.com and any email sent to that email address will get automatically sent to your normal testuser@ilj.com address. If you get tired of getting email there, make a filter to send it to the trash but still get any email sent to your normal email address in your inbox.
Just add +whateveryouwanthere to your username before the @ symbol.
Note: The first time an email comes to that extension, it will automatically create a folder for it with the same name as the + address. If you do not want it to go into that folder, you will need to create a filter to put it in the folder you prefer.
