The following settings are used to configure mail client applications like Apple Mail, Thunderbird and Outlook and various apps and programs used to check email. Please use the connection settings below. They provide encryption between the mail client and the mail server and are more secure than non-encrypted connections.
IMAP settings (Recommended):
Account Type: IMAP
Incoming Mail Server: email.iljmail.com
Encryption: TLS/SSL
Incoming Server (IMAP) port: 993
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.iljmail.com
Encryption: STARTTLS, TLS or SSL (first available)
Outgoing Server (SMTP) port: 587
Inbound & Outbound User Name: Full email address (including the part after the @ symbol)
Inbound & Outbound Password: Your email password
SMTP Server Requires Authentication: Yes, use default same user name and password as incoming server
Our server REQUIRES authentication to send email so you will either need to tell it that the server requires authentication if it has that option OR you will need to fill in your full email address and password in the SMTP/Outgoing area even if it says it's optional in the app itself.
POP is not recommended because it downloads the messages off the server onto one device and there is no way to retrieve those emails if you lose that device. However, if this is how you prefer to use your email, please see the specific settings below.
