Mozilla has a Thunderbird app for Android at this time but they are working on one for iOS as well.
Here's how to set up Thunderbird for Android. First install it from the Google Play Store here.
- Tap the Thunderbird icon on your screen and then tap "Get Started"
- You will be met with a screen that has a few options. If you already use Thunderbird, there is an import option but this article assumes you don't use Thunderbird already.
- Choose "Add an Email Account Now"
- Put in your full email address
- It might say "Configuration Not Found - configure manually". Click Next
- IMAP server settings are:
Server: email.iljmail.com
Security: SSL/TLS
Port: 993
Authentication: Normal Password
Username: Your FULL email address
Password: Your email password
Leave everything else as is and click NEXT - SMTP server settings are:
Server: smtp.iljmail.com
Security: StartTLS
Port: 587
Authentication: Normal Password
Username: Your FULL email address
Password: Your email password
Client certificate: None
Click NEXT - Once it finds your account, it will show a screen that asks if you want to import your Contacts. This will import your phone contacts. You can choose "Allow" or "Skip" at the bottom.
- It will ask for Display options and you can put whatever you want in those areas. click NEXT
- Now it will display your inbox. You can tap the menu in the top left or the compose icon in the bottom right. Keep scrolling for images that go along with these instructions.
