What if you forget your login password?
Let's just imagine this scenario:
You sign up for an account here and use an old email address to create your billing account and get your receipt and welcome letter. Then you go delete that old email address. A year or two later, you have to reset your computer and can't remember your email password with ILJ Mail. You go to use the password reset form and realize that you don't have access to your old recovery email address anymore. To top that off, you didn't give ILJ Mail a phone number to keep on file, either. That's not good.
ILJ Mail takes security very seriously and we will not just give access to an account without being able to verify ownership.
Here's how to keep this from happening.
PHONE: Add a phone number to your ILJ Mail account! We will never call you. It's only used to text you a new password if you need it. We don't sell your information so you don't have to worry about that phone number getting on some kind of list because of us. It's only for password resets.
ALTERNATE EMAIL: Get an email address just to use for password recovery! We suggest a free protonmail.com address. It doesn't have much space and the messages you can send and receive are limited daily, but they are private and if you ever needed to use it for a password reset, it seems to be a good option for that.
Please consider those two things if you are planning to delete your old email when you sign up with ILJ Mail. It's always good to have a backup way to get into your accounts.
