If you are moving from another email service, you might want to find an easy way to bring all your contacts over to ILJ Mail. We can’t cover the process for every email program here but we can show you how to IMPORT your contacts if you can get them exported from the other service into a .csv format.
Importing Contacts into ILJ Mail Webmail
- Sign into your ILJ Mail webmail
- Choose Address Book/Contacts
- Choose Import
- Click the Browse button and choose the file you want to upload.
- When you choose your file, then click Import
- It will show you an option to "map fields" if you need to. Look over them to make sure everything matches like it should, but you can most likely just skip that part and click "import" .
Once you click the blue Import button, it should show you how many contacts it imported and you can close that little window. Then check your contacts to see if it looks like you expected.
If you need to export your contacts from webmail at ILJ Mail, just choose Export above your contacts and save the file to your computer. Then you can import it to the other provider.
Exporting Contacts from other providers to use with ILJ Mail
Here are a few widely used services that you might want to export contacts from:
iCloud.com
You will have to have your contacts synced with icloud to be able to do that so you can do it from a browser. Here's the instructions on that:
To enable contact syncing with iCloud:
- In your iPhone, go to Settings
- Tap your name at the top
- Tap iCloud
- Under "Apps Using iCloud" you may have to tap "show all" to see it, but there should be a "Contacts" option.
- Tap the switch by "Contacts" if it's not green already.
- Once you get that done, it should sync your contacts to icloud (if it's not already doing that)
Export iCloud.com contacts:
- Go to https://www.icloud.com/contacts/
- Go down to the bottom where there's a gear icon and click that and choose "Select All"
- Once they are all selected, go back to that gear icon and choose "Export Vcard"
- Save the file to your computer then follow the import instructions at the top of this page.
Outlook.com
- Sign into your email account at https://outlook.live.com
- Click on the People icon on the left menu pane.
- Click on “Manage” in the upper right and choose “Export Contacts”
- Choose All Contacts and save the file and follow the import instructions at the top of this page.
Gmail.com

- On the left menu pane, choose “Export”
- Choose “Outlook CSV”

Yahoo.com

AOL.com
- Sign in to AOL and click on the Contacts icon that shows up over on the right side beside the little calendar icon.
- When your contacts pop up in that sidebar, click the three little dots there at the very right of the screen and choose "Export to CSV"
- Save the .csv file to your computer. This is the file to import to our webmail using the instructions at the top of this page.
Other Email Exports:
Every email provider seems to have a different export set up. However, they tend to be very similar when you export the spreadsheet file. One thing to remember about importing your exported file into our webmail is to make sure that the column titles are capitalized. For example, a column with "First name" will not import but if you change it to "First Name", it will. If you need help with getting a contact file imported, just let us know through the contact form and we will be happy to help you troubleshoot!
