If you are looking to change Outlook from the old ILJ Mail system (pre-October 07, 2022) to the new one (after October 07, 2022), please follow these instructions. This is specific to Outlook 365 but other versions should be similar. To see how to set up an older version, click here and scroll down to the older versions sections.
IMPORTANT: Are you using POP or IMAP for your email connection?
If you use POP, just changing the server names will work (under incoming server change FROM secure.iljmail.com TO email.iljmail.com and in outgoing server change FROM secure.iljmail.com TO smtp.iljmail.com).
If you use IMAP, then you will need to remove the account out of Outlook and then set it back up from fresh using the new information. I am not sure why IMAP won't allow you to just change the server names but it seems to hang up somewhere and cause Outlook to not receive new emails.
You can tell which type it is when you click on your email account and then click File, then Account Settings. At the top of that screen there is a drop down list. Under your email address, it will say either IMAP/SMTP or POP/SMTP
IMAP Change Instructions
If you do use IMAP and want to remove and re-add, then follow these steps:
- Click on your email account
- Click File
- Click the Account Settings "button"
- Choose Account Settings again
- Choose your email address in that list and click Remove up at the top.
Once you get that IMAP account removed, you should then follow the instructions here on this page to set it back up with the new settings:
